INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT AT 7 THE REACH SOUTH SANDS SALCOMBE

When the new owners of 7 the Reach at South Sands approached REFURB, they knew they wanted their new build apartment to look stylish and chic. It was a blank canvas that needed interior design to transform into a luxurious coastal retreat that would appeal to the owners and their holiday guests.

The three bedroom apartment is in a fabulous beachside location at South Sands next to the stylish Harbour Beach Club. With two Juliette balconies looking out across South Sands beach and towards Salcombe Harbour entrance, it was essential to make the most of the views.

7 The Reach has a large open-plan living room and kitchen, we worked to maximize the space while creating distinct zones with unique aesthetics.

With an eye always on practicality, we designed an apartment that appealed to guests who wanted to stay in a luxurious, unique apartment that felt coastal but not clichéd. We added glamour and character in the furnishings and the furniture, from the stylish art deco ivory table in the entrance hallway to the glamorous master bedroom suite with a wall mural that exudes the ambience of a boutique hotel.

We took inspiration from travel abroad and used a colour palette of teals, greys, and blues, and added fabrics, leather, and metal elements to add texture and interest. To create a distinctive character, we sourced unique items from both the UK and abroad, including a sideboard imported from the Netherlands that perfectly complements the gold mirror above it.

The two master bedrooms were designed to be beautiful and distinct, with one featuring a modern four-poster bed, and the other showcasing a stunning large mural that really stands out and makes an impression on the room. To further enhance the guest experience, we created a cosy nook on the small bijou balcony where guests can snuggle up and stargaze.

The high-vaulted ceilings in the master bedrooms presented a design challenge and careful thought and consideration to ensure the rooms were cosy and inviting. Especially for the curtains, which had to cover an irregular shaped window. We procured all the necessary soft furnishings, furniture, and artwork, ensuring that the apartment was ready for holiday letting and that everything was arranged for ease of use.

We always have an eye on the practical side of things for changeovers so we designed a cupboard with a unique magic lock that can only be opened if you know how to - so that linen can be stored between changeovers. Then additionally, we created cupboard space for the owners that was personal to them.
